Shrouded in legend

Hohenschwangau Castle is just a stone's throw away from world famous Neuschwanstein Castle, which was built by King Ludwig II. As legend has it the young king watched the construction progress of Neuschwanstein further up the hill through his telescope.

Hohenschwangau might be lesser known but has a lot of stories to tell about the Bavarian royal family. A guided tour leads you through grand rooms which look like the family just left. Usually you visit Hohenschwangau first, then you do the Neuschwanstein tour.

Alltogether it's a great day out, packed with history and glamour.
