Day 1

itin day 1We will pick you up at the Frankfurt airport and escort you to your hotel in Mannheim (incl.). Depending on your arrival time we may do a stroll through the city in the afternoon. Did you know that the first car ever was invented here? As well as the bicycle? Enjoy local cuisine as a welcome dinner in a local brewery in the evening (incl.).

Day 2

itin day 7We'll travel back in time and visit a huge medieval spectacle nearby, so no car needed (tickets incl.). Browse countless market stands with unfamiliar but enticing food and needful things, have a jar of the honey-wine Met (mead), see craftspeople at work and haggle with them. Enjoy unlimited mead (not incl.).

Day 3

itin day 2We visit famous Heidelberg and its castle. Mark Twain wrote: “It looks down upon the compact brown-roofed town”, and: “I have never enjoyed a view which had such a serene and satisfying charm about it as this one gives”. Not too much has changed (public transport incl.).

Day 4

itin day 4aWe introduce you to your motorhome. Afterwards we visit a village which dates back to Celtic and Roman ages and its centre is still medieval. We have a relaxed stroll, coffee and cake and visit an automobile museum focused on the career of the automotive pioneer Karl Benz. Here you can admire the first car ever.

Day 5

itin day 3Finally: your first day on the road. We have a stunning scenic drive along the "Black Forest High Road", famous for picturesque views and Brothers Grimm type villages. And cuckoo clocks, of course. We spend the night in a typical, charming Black Forest village.

Day 6

itin day 4In the morning we visit an open air museum about cultural history in this area (guided tour incl.). Afterwards we cross the Rhine river and the border to France, browse the Alsace and stay at a gem of a village. We will enjoy a traditional Alsatian dinner like Tarte flambée or Choucroute garnie (Sauerkraut with sausages and bacon. Huge!).

Day 7

itin day 5Still in the Alsace, we follow a mountain road with fantastic panoramic views of (toy) villages, lakes, forests and Germany to the east. We stay overnight at another enchanted old village under the wings of the Alsatian heraldic animal, the stork.

Day 8

itin day 6We make a day trip to Colmar, the “capital of Alsatian wine” with its well preserved old town and numerous architectural landmarks. We also find out why a part of the city is called Little Venice (guided tour incl.).
